Blanc d'Ambre

The white grape variety is a new cross-breed between Schiras Dr. Houbdine x Chasselas, which was confirmed by DNA analyses carried out in 2013. Synonyms are Aseri, Aseri du Tarn, Aseri Tarn, Bianco d'Ambra and Oseri du Tarn. The same parents also gave rise to the variety Milton. The crossing took place in 1851 in France by the breeder Jean-Pierre Vibert (see also under Moreau-Robert). It is an all-female grape variety, therefore cross-pollination is necessary. It was a partner in the new variety Madeleine Angevine. The variety is mainly used as table grape. No stock was reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
