The winery is located in the municipality of Leiwen (Bernkastel area) in the German wine-growing region of Mosel. It is run in the third family generation by Stefan Blees in cooperation with his father Karl Blees. A guest house is attached. The vineyards cover 7.5 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Altärchen and Apotheke (Trittenheim), Gärtchen (solely owned) and Goldtröpfchen (Piesport), as well as Klostergarten and Laurentiuslay (Leiwen). More than 80% of the vines are planted with Riesling, as well as Pinot Blanc, Rivaner and Pinot Noir. In the vineyards, natural viticulture is consistently practised with environmentally friendly fertilisation, limited pruning and careful care of the vines. Fermentation is temperature-controlled in relatively small stainless steel vats and wooden barrels with the aim of producing elegant, fruit-driven wines. Around 75% are vinified dry and semi-dry, and 25% with natural fruit sweetness.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
