Blees-Ferber

The estate is located in the community Leiwen (Bernkastel area) in the German wine-growing region Moselle, It is run in the third generation of families by Stefan Blees in collaboration with his father Karl Blees. A guest house is connected. The vineyards cover 7.5 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Altärchen and pharmacy (Trittenheim), garden (sole ownership) and Goldtröpfchen (Piesport), as well as monastery garden and Laurentiuslay (Leiwen). They are planted to over 80% with Riesling, as well as the varieties Pinot Blanc, Rivaner and Pinot Noir. In the vineyard is practiced consistently near-natural viticulture with environmentally friendly fertilization, limited vine cutting and careful care of the grapevines. Fermentation is temperature-controlled in relatively small stainless steel containers and wooden barrels with the aim of elegant, fruity wines. Around 75% are dry and semi-dry, and 25% expanded with natural fruit sweetness.
