Bleichert

Formerly used in individual German growing areas name (also bleaching) for very pale-colored or bright pressed red wines, as Rosé was conceptually still unknown. The term "bleaching" is mentioned for example in 1664 in the Mayschoßer Schatzbuch. At the Ahr, especially on the Lower Rhine "Ahrbleichert" was common.
