Bleichert

Formerly used in some German growing areas (also bleaching type) for very pale colored or lightly pressed red wines when rosé was conceptually unknown. The term "bleaching type" is mentioned in 1664 in the Mayschosser Treasure Book, for example. At the Ahr, especially on the Lower Rhine, "Ahrbleichert" was common.
