The red grape variety probably comes from Austria - Hungary, Synonyms are Augster Bleu, Bajor Kék, Blue Bronte Grape, Blue Olive Grape, Blue Ranful, Blue Red Ritscheiner, Foxglove Grape, Goher Kék, Goher Noir, Ritscheiner, Schwarzer Augster, Spechtliebteutte. According to in 2013 DNA analysis is from a presumably natural cross between White Augster x Vulpea emerged. However, this is based on only 20 DNA markers (see under molecular Genetics ).
