The winegrowers' cooperative is located in the municipality of Escherndorf (Maindreieck area) in the German winegrowing region of Franconia. The predecessor organisation Escherndorfer Winzerverein eG. was founded in 1913 by 21 winegrowers, but was affiliated with a central winery as a winepress station in 1970. Then, in 1997, the Escherndorf winegrowers' cooperative was newly founded by nine winegrowers. The administrator is Gotthardt Römmelt, the managing director Thomas Römmelt and the cellar master Ernst Braun. The members cultivate vineyards with 30 hectares of vineyards in the communities of Dettelbach, Escherndorf in the single vineyard sites Fürstenberg and Lump, Neuses, Nordheim and Volkach. They are planted with the white wine varieties Müller-Thurgau, Silvaner, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Kerner, Scheurebe and Bacchus, as well as the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Blaufränkisch, Dornfelder and Domina. The partner for wine processing is the WG DIVINO Nordheim Thüngersheim. The white wines are fermented and matured in steel tanks. The red wines are traditionally exclusively mash-fermented and mature in large wooden barrels or in barrique. The large product range includes many white wines, red wines, Rotling, bottle-fermented sparkling wines and noble brandies (marc, grape, fruit).
