The cooperative winery is located in the town of Almendralejo (Badajoz province) in the DO Ribera del Guadiana in the Spanish region of Extremadura. It was founded in 1980 and now has 300 members. In the summer of 2005, a new bottling plant with an attached winery was installed. The vineyards cover 2,300 hectares of vineyards in the Tierra de Barros sub-area. The wines are produced under the brand names Campobarro, Campobravo, Castillo de Belmiro, Heredad de Barros, Marcus, Marquitos, Quinta del Santos, Señorío del Barrado and Valdegracia. Bag-in-box wines in 3-litre containers are also produced under the Spanish label. The company is the largest exporter in the sector, exporting its wines to many European countries, as well as to Japan, China, Canada and the United States.
