Bodegas Esmeralda

The winery is located in the town of Junín in the province of Mendoza in Argentina. It was founded in 1926 by Don Juan Fernández and named after his daughter. Since 2008, Leopoldo Nicolás Kuschnaroff has been in charge as general manager. The vineyards are spread over the four satellite bodegas La Antonia Norte, La Antonia Sur, La Vendimia and La Libertad and cover a total of around 1,000 hectares of vineyards. The red wine varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec (Cot), Petit Verdot, Tannat, Bonarda (Croatina), Syrah, Tempranillo, Torrontés Mendocino and Torrontés Sanjuanino, as well as the white wine varieties Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc are cultivated. These varieties were carefully selected for their soil type and microclimate. Artificial irrigation is required. The wines are produced in the Esmeralda Fernández, Estiba I and Gran Rodas lines, as well as the Tilia, Retamo, Dos Lomos and Canopia lines, which are destined for export. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced.
