The winery "Bodegas Las Granadas Coronadas" is located in the municipality of Herguijuela-Trujillo (province of Cáceres) in the DO Ribera del Guadiana in the Spanish region of Extremadura. It was founded in 1975. The vineyards in the foothills of the Sierra de los Lagares at 800 metres above sea level cover 110 hectares of vines. The varieties cultivated are Tempranillo, Borba Blanca, Cabernet Sauvignon and Alarije. Recently, the wine production has been considerably expanded and an underground warehouse has been created that can hold 4,000 barrique barrels. It offers ideal climatic conditions for a quiet storage and a continuous aging process of the wines. These are marketed under the labels Altamirano, Lagares, Pitarra, Taryala and Torre Julia.
