The winery is located in the town of Almendralejo (Badajoz province) in the DO Ribera del Guadiana in the Spanish region of Extremadura. It was founded in 1989. The vineyards in the sub-area Tierra de Barros are planted with the red wine varieties Tempranillo, Garnacha Tinta, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, and the white wine varieties Macabeo and Sauvignon Blanc. Great importance is attached to quality assurance. The timing of the harvest is individually determined in each vineyard by samples taken. This guarantees the quality and individual character of the wines. For storage and maturation, 600 American oak barrels are available, which corresponds to a total capacity of 180,000 litres. The flagship of the house is the crianza "Privilegio de Romale" made from Tempranillo. It also produces bag-in-box wines in 2, 3, 5, 10 and 15 litre containers. A cava is also produced.
