Bonamico

The red grape variety originates from Italy. The name means "good friend" and refers to the yield. Synonyms are Buonamico, Canaiolo Romano, Ceragia, Giacomino, Neyret, Pulera, Sangioveto, Uva di Palaia and Uva Rosa. This late-ripening vine produces light red, low-alcohol, high-acid red wines with a floral aroma. It is also used as table grape. The variety was widespread in Tuscany until the 1960s, but today it is only grown on 12 hectares. In Argentina, it is cultivated on 137 hectares. In 2016, 149 hectares of vineyards were designated (Kym Anderson).
