Bordeaux glass

Term for a large-volume, bulbous red wine glass, the goblet of which tapers towards the top to contain the fragrances ( flavorings ) better to keep in the jar. The development of the fragrances is supported by the broad surface level and the volume of the fireplace (Space between surface and glass edge). Therefore, the wine (as with all wine glasses) should be poured up to the height of the largest goblet. It is particularly suitable for alcoholic, tannic red wines; of course not just from that Bordeaux, The Burgundy glass is quite similar, but much more bulbous and with a lower cup (chimney). It is particularly suitable for aromatic, fruity Wines. See also under wine glasses. wine vessels and Weingenuss,
