The winery "Tenuta Borgolano" is located in the municipality of Montescano (province of Pavia) in the easternmost part of the Oltrepò Pavese area in the Italian region of Lombardy. It was founded in 1903 and is now owned by Donatella Quarone. Roberto Olivieri is responsible as oenologist. The estate has 25 hectares of vineyards, 15 of which are planted with vines. These are spread over smaller plots in five municipalities up to the upper Versatal. The remaining ten hectares are wooded, where mushrooms and chestnuts are collected and processed into various products on the estate. The company is located in the "Poderi del Burlan" with wine cellar and farmhouse.

The white wine variety Riesling is cultivated, as well as the red wine varieties Barbera, Croatina and Pinot Nero(Pinot Noir). The environmentally friendly cultivation is carried out according to the guidelines of integrated plant protection. The product range includes various DOC/DOC wines Oltrepò Pavese. The premium wines include the three red wines "Donna Bonarda" (Croatina Riserva), "Dekameron Buttafuoco" (cuvée with the main part Croatina and smaller quantities of other red varieties) and "Diabolika Barbera" (Barbera), as well as a white Pinot Nero. Around 50,000 bottles are produced annually, 15% of which are exported to Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and France.
