Bosco

The white grape variety comes from Italy. Synonyms are Bosco Bianco, Bosco Bianco del Genovese and Bosco Bianco di Savona. It must not be confused with the Scimiscià variety (synonym Genovese). This late-ripening, high-yielding vine is moderately resistant to grape rot and downy mildew, but is susceptible to powdery mildew. It produces amber-coloured white wines with aromas of nuts, almonds, honey and dried figs. The variety is authorised in Liguria in the DOC wines Cinque Terre and Colline di Levanto. In 2016, 50 hectares of vineyards were designated (Kym Anderson).
