Bota de Vino

Name (also short Bota) for a used in Spain drinking bag for wine made of leather. In the past, this was a classic vessel for farmers and farm workers in field work. Traditionally, the bag was sealed inside with pitch. Today it is mainly produced as a tourist souvenir and is coated with rubber. The bag is held over the neck-tilted head and compressed. Through a tight tube, the jet of liquid shoots directly into the mouth. Very similar in terms of enjoyment is the Catalan drinking vessel Porrón, As Bota is the classic wooden barrel used in the production of sherry. See also below wine vessels,
