The winery is located in the municipality of Zöbing in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Kamptal. It was founded in 1952/1953 by Johann Brandl senior. Today the winery is run by Günther and Petra Brandl, who are supported by their parents Johann and Elisabeth. The vineyards cover nine hectares of vineyards in the vineyards Heiligenstein, Kogelberg, Lamm and Pfaffenberg. They are planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner (about half of the stock), Riesling (40%) and some Gelber Muskateller. The vineyards are cultivated in a natural, environmentally friendly way. The wines are vinified in stainless steel tanks with the aim of achieving site characteristics and fresh fruitiness. The premium wines include various Rieslings and Grüner Veltliner Kamptal DAC and Kamptal DAC Reserve. Around 60,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. The winery has been a member of the Winzervereinigung Traditionsweingüter Österreich since 2015.
The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
