Braunfels

single vineyard in the municipality of Wiltingen (Saar area) in the German Moselle wine-growing region. The vineyards, which face west to south-west at an altitude of 200 to 240 metres above sea level with a slope of 28 to 51%, cover 17 hectares of vines. The best parcels of the vineyard are located directly on the dome next to the famous Scharzhofberg. They are also known as "Vols". The soils consist of weathered grey slate with greywacke, quartzite and clay. Here, mainly Riesling is cultivated. The Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt, Reinert, Rinke and Van Volxem wineries, for example, have shares in the site.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
