The white grape variety is a new breed between (Chrupka Červená = Chasselas Rose x Tramín Cervený = Red Traminer) x Santa Maria d'Alcantara. Breslava is the historical name of the Slovakian capital Bratislava (Pressburg). The cross was made in 1960 in what was then Czechoslovakia by Dorata Pospisilova. The medium-maturing vine is sensitive to frost, but resistant to botrytis. It yields fresh white wines with aromas of grapefruit and a light muscat tone. The variety is cultivated in Slovakia. However, no stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).

The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
