Brun Argenté

The red variety comes from France, The name refers to the brown-red berry color (brun = brown) and the silvery leaf underside (argentè = silver). Synonyms are Arzhente, Bakarezo, Bryun Argenté, Camarèse, Camarèze, Vacarèse, Vacarèze Blanc, Vaccarèse, Vaccarèze, Vaccareso and Vakarez. The old variety was already in 1538 in Saturnin-lès-Avignon in the southeastern département Vaucluse mentioned as Vaccarèse.
