Buena Vista Winery

The historically significant Californian Winery is in the area Los Carneros near the city Sonoma, It was founded in 1857 by the Austro-Hungarian nobleman Agoston Haraszthy (1812-1869) founded with then 230 acres of land. The press house built by him in 1862 is today a tourist attraction. Haraszthy expanded the estate to 2,500 hectares and maintained offices in Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco and even London. Due to numerous losses on the stock market, the company soon went bankrupt. In 1943, a new foundation by Frank Bartholomew. The famous oenologist André Tchelistcheff (1901-1994) worked as a consultant for some time. In 1979 it was owned by the German company Racke, After several ownership changes, the estate was finally in 2007 by Constellation Brands Bought. The vineyards cover 445 hectares, which extend down to slopes on the San Francisco Bay. The wines are made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Riesling, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Zinfandel. The brand L'Année is a red wine in Bordeaux style. Every year, 125,000 boxes of wine are produced.
