Buketta

The white grape variety is a new cross between Seyve Villard 12-375 (Villard Blanc) x Muskat-Ottonel. It contains genes from Vitis berlandieri, Vitis rupestris and Vitis vinifera. However, the variety must not be confused with the German new variety Bukettrebe. The hybrid was crossed in 1994 in Gols (Burgenland, Austria) by the private breeders Dr. Gertrude Mayer and Georg Paul Weiss. The strong-growing, frost-hardy variety is resistant to both powdery mildew and botrytis. It produces white wines with a muscat tone with very good storage potential. The variety is also used as table grape. However, no stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
