The winery is located in the municipality of Valeriano (Province of Pordenone) in the border region of Italy (Gorizia)-Slovenia (Goricia) in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. The vineyards cover 16 hectares of vineyards, which extend over the territory of the municipalities of Pinzano al Tagliamento and Castelnovo del Friuli. Of these, nine hectares are planted with grape varieties, some of which are very old and were already threatened with extinction. With the help of ampelographer Ruggero Forti they were rediscovered by winemaker Emilio Bulfon and are now cultivated again in small quantities. These are Cividìn, Cianorie, Cordenossa, Forgiarìn, Piculit Neri, Sciaglìn and Ucelùt. Furthermore, the varieties Moscato Rosa and Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso are also cultivated. Spumante, Frizzante and Grappa are also produced.
For me, Lexicon from wein.plus is the most comprehensive and best source of information about wine currently available.
