Riede (location) in the Austrian wine region Wachau, The reed is mentioned in documents as early as 1289, whereby the name refers to the geological origin of this reed, by which also the border of the cadastral communities Dürnstein and Unterloiben runs. A distinction is therefore made in two areas. The “Dürnsteiner Schütt” reed lying to the west is oriented to the south-east and consists of weathered soils with alluvial sand. Only the variety is used here Riesling cultured. The “Loibner Schütt” with holdings of Green Valtellina and Riesling. Some of them face south to southeast terraced Vineyards at 208 to 249 meters above sea level have slopes of up to 52% Tilt and cover almost six hectares of vineyards.
