Burghalde

single vineyard in the municipalities of Schnait/Beutelsbach (Remstal-Stuttgart area) in the German wine-growing region of Württemberg. It was first mentioned in a document in 1600 and was called "Schnaiter Halde" until the land reorganisation in 1971. The west to south-east facing vineyards at an altitude of 300 to 350 metres above sea level with a slope of 5 to 40% cover 76 hectares of vineyards. They are very well protected from the wind by the surrounding Schurwald forest. The soils consist of Keuper, sand and coloured marl. The main varieties cultivated here are Trollinger (Schiava Grossa) and Pinot Noir. The Ellwanger Jürgen, Haidle Karl and Schnaitmann wineries, for example, have shares in the site.
