Description for a wine in the context of a wine evaluation or wine address. However, this usually rather unpleasant taste and smell impression must be seen in context and can refer to a high content of alcohol, acids or tannins. It can range from obtrusive to negatively aggressive. See astringent, alcoholic, brandy, warm, edgy, peppery, sour and pungent.
