The white grape variety is a new breed between Welschriesling x Furmint. Synonyms are Bussana, Dalmasso 12-37, Incrocio Dalmasso 12-37 and Incrocio Dalmasso XII/37. The crossing was made in 1937 in Conegliano (Veneto) by the Italian breeder Giovanni Dalmasso (1886-1974). The late maturing vine produces fruity white wines with aromas of jasmine, pears and apples. It is cultivated in the regions of Piedmont and Friuli Venezia Giulia. In 2016, three hectares of vineyard area have been identified with a downward trend (statistics Kym Anderson).

In the past, you needed a wealth of encyclopaedias and specialist literature to keep up to date in your vinophile professional life. Today, Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one of my best helpers and can rightly be called the "bible of wine knowledge".
