The winery is located in the municipality of Montecchia di Crosara in the province of Verona in the Italian region of Veneto. Its origins date back to 1900, when Amedeo Tessari leased an osteria. After the first beginning with wine sales, the winery also started to grow wine. After an eventful history, in 1986 the first wines were marketed under the name Ca' Rugate, derived from the hills north of Brognoligo. Today the winery is run by Michele Tessari, who is also responsible for the cellar technology together with Giovanni Tessari. The vineyards cover 16 hectares of vineyards with the best positions in Montecchia di Crosara and Monteforte d'Alpone. They are planted with the white wine varieties Durella and Garganega and the red wine varieties Corvina Veronese, Molinara, Rondinella, Corvinone and Trebbiano di Soave (Verdicchio Bianco). The product range includes various DOC/DOCG wines such as Amarone della Valpolicella, Recioto di Soave, Soave Classico and Valpolicella. Grappa is also produced.
