Cabernet Moravia

The red grape variety (also M-43) is a new variety between Cabernet Franc x Zweigelt. It was crossed in 1975 by the breeder Lubomír Glos in Moravská Nová Ves in Moravia. The plant variety protection was granted in 2001. The late maturing, high-yielding vine is resistant to botrytis. It produces dark-coloured, aromatic red wines with aromas of cassis and storage potential. The variety is grown in the Czech Republic, especially in Moravia. In 2010, 212 hectares of vineyard area were declared here, but no stocks were recorded in 2016 (statistics Kym Anderson).
