The red grape variety is an interspecific new breeding between Black Queen x Cabernet Sauvignon. It contains genes from Vitis labrusca, Vitis lincecumii and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid was crossed in Japan. It must not be confused with the variety Cabernet Lion (with confusing synonym Cabernet Suntory). In 2016 no stocks were reported (statistics Kym Anderson).
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
