The white grape variety (also Riciniello Bianco) originates from Italy. The name refers to the berries covered with brown spots. In 2005, DNA analyses revealed a genetic relationship with the Campanian varieties Pellecchiona and Fenile. However, the parentage (parenthood) is unknown. The presumably very old, low-yielding vine with sugar-rich berries produces low-acid white wines. It is cultivated in the Campania region on the coast of Amalfi. In 2016, however, no stocks were recorded (statistics Kym Anderson).
