Calmeria

The white grape variety is a new variety between Ohanes x Sultanina (Sultana), which was determined by DNA analyses last carried out in 2017 (the breeding list indicated "Ohanes O.P."). Synonyms are C 11-31-5, Kalmeria, Kalmerija and Seedless Calmeria. The cross was made in 1941 in the USA by the breeders Elmer Snyder and Frank N. Harmon. The variety is mainly used for the production of sultanas and table grapes, and also as rootstock. The variety was a crossing partner in the new varieties Autumn Seedless and Fiesta. It is grown in small quantities in Aragon. In 2016, 0.3 hectares of vines were reported (Kym Anderson statistics).
