DOC area for white, red and rosé wines in the Italian region Campania, In the Phlegrean Fields (Campi Flegrei = burning fields) about 20 kilometers west of Vesuvius numerous volcanoes were active in the last 40,000 years, which also shaped the soil conditions accordingly. There are also many thermal springs here. The area includes the municipalities of Bacoli, Marano, Monte di Procida, Naples, Pozzuoli and Quarto in the province of Naples.

The white wine Falanghina (also as Spumante and Passito ), the red wines Piedirosso / Per'e Palummo (also as Riserva ) and Piedirosso Passito , as well as the Piedirosso Rosato must contain at least 90% of the respective variety.
