Campo de la Guardia

Special wine-growing area in the municipality of Las Guardia in the province of Toledo south of Madrid in the Spanish region La Mancha (Castile-La Mancha). It was named the highest Spanish wine quality level in 2009 Vino de Pago classified. The vineyards cover 81 hectares of vineyards on dark limestone soils. It will be the red wine varieties Tempranillo. Cabernet Sauvignon. Merlot. Syrah. Petit Verdot and Malbec ( Cot ), as well as the white wine variety Chardonnay (grown exclusively in the El Casar plot). The area is fully owned by the Bodegas Martúe winery.
