The white grape variety (also New York 17-806) is an interspecific new variety between Muscat d'Hamburg x Hubbard Seedless(Brighton x Campbell Early). It contains genes from Vitis labrusca and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid was crossed in 1928 in the US state of New York by Richard Wellington. The medium to late ripening vine is resistant to frost. The berries have a muscatel taste. In 2016, 120 hectares of vineyard area were designated in Australia (McLaren Vale) (Kym Anderson). Smaller stocks are also planned for Canada (Ontario).
