There are two grape varieties with this name; nothing is known about a possible relationship:

The white grape variety comes from Italy. The parentage (parenthood) is unknown. No stock was reported in 2010 (Kym Anderson).

The white grape variety (also Kanella) originates from Cyprus. The name is derived from "cinnamon"(cinnamon). The parentage (parenthood) is unknown. Possibly there is a relation to the variety Morocanella. The variety was rediscovered by the Cypriot oenologist Akis Zambartas. It is mainly used as a blend. However, no stock was reported in 2010 (Kym Anderson).
