Cape Point

Wine growing area (District) south of Cape Town in South Africa who for Coastal region heard. It is named after the cliff of the same name at the south end of the Cape Peninsula and is located about one kilometer east of the Cape of Good Hope, with which it is often mistaken (but the southernmost point in South Africa is the 200 kilometer southeast Cape Agulhas, after which a district is also named). There is no ward. The vineyards run like a mosaic along the coast, some are barely a kilometer from the Atlantic coast. The climate is positively shaped by cooling sea breezes. This works well for the white varieties Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and Chardonnay, as well as for the red varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Pinot Noir. Well-known producers are Cape Point Vineyards (owned by Sybrand van der Spuy, who was recognized as a WO area in 1998), Noordhoek, Scarborough and Two Oceans Vineyards (name is actually not correct because the Indian Ocean only starts at Cape Agulhas) ,
