Caperan

The red grape variety (also Baco 43-23) is an interspecific new variety between Cabernet Sauvignon x Couderc 4401 (Oiseau Rouge). It contains genes from Vitis rupestris and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid was crossed by the French breeder François Baco (1865-1947). It was mainly used as a rootstock. In 2016 no stocks were recorded (statistics Kym Anderson).
