Imprecise term for various care measures in the vineyard or forms of pruning, which mean different things (see also under vineyard care):

  • Stake pruning: in which the vine is kept as low as possible and a fruit cane tied in a semicircle is pruned
  • Wire-frame training: the long fruiting canes are tied under the cordon
  • High cultivation: when one or two eyes are left in place
