The red grape variety is on the island Corsica cultured; Synonyms are Carcaghjolu Neru and Carcajolo Nero. It is with the Spanish variety Parraleta identical. The Italian ampelographer Bruno Bruni suspected that she was from Sardinia came to Corsica via the port of Bonifacio, which is also indicated by synonyms such as Bonifaccencu. It only occupies a few hectares in Corsica; in Sardinia it is grown under the name Carcajolo Nero. The white variety Carcajolo Blanc, also cultivated in Corsica ( Bariadorgia ) is not related.
