Carignan Bouschet

The red grape variety (also Plant de Verre) is a new breed between Petit Bouschet x Morrastel ( Graciano ). The cross was made in France in the middle of the 19th century by Henri Bouschet, It produces deep dark red wines, which as teinturier (Dye grape) can be used. The variety is in the department Herault ( Languedoc ) grown. In 2010, one hectare of vineyards was reported (Statistics Kym Anderson ).
