Carignan Bouschet

The red variety (also Plant de Verre) is a new breed between Petit Bouschet x Morrastel ( Graciano ). The crossing took place in France in the mid-19th century by Henri Bouschet, It produces deep dark red wines, which as teinturier (Dyeing grape) are used. The variety is in the department Herault ( Languedoc ) grown. In 2010, one hectare of vineyard was reported (Statistics Kym Anderson ).
