Carignan Bouschet

The red grape variety (also Plant de Verre) is a new variety between Petit Bouschet x Morrastel(Graciano). It was crossed in France in the middle of the 19th century by Henri Bouschet (1815-1881). It produces deep dark red wines, which are used as Teinturier (dyer's grape). The variety is grown in the Département Herault(Languedoc). In 2016, 1.5 hectares of vineyards were designated (statistics Kym Anderson).
