Casavecchia di Pontelatone

DOC zone for red wine in the Italian region of Campania; the DOC classification was not made until 2011; the zone completely covers the municipalities of Liberi and Formicola, and parts of the municipalities of Pontelatone, Caiazzo, Castel di Sasso, Castel Campagnano, Piana di Monte Verna and Ruviano in the province of Caserta. The wine must contain at least 85% Casavecchia. With 36 months of ageing it can be called Riserva. If the grapes come from classified vineyards, Vigna can be indicated followed by the name of the vineyard.
