The white grape variety comes from Portugal. Synonyms are Morrao, Murrao, Pe de Perdrix, Pied de Perdrix, Terrantes and Terrantez. The parentage (parenthood) is unknown. It must not be confused with other varieties of the name group Terrantez. The low yielding vine is susceptible to fungal diseases such as powdery and downy mildew. It produces tender, fruity white wines, which are mostly used as blends. The variety is cultivated in the Portuguese Vinho Verde area. However, no stocks were reported in 2016 (statistics Kym Anderson).

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
