The oldest Armagnac house "Armagnac Castarède SA" in Lavardac was founded in 1832. Today it is run by the sixth generation of families by Florence Castarède. The ripening times prescribed for the aging classes are considerably exceeded. It will be the quality classes VSOP (youngest distillate at least eight years old), Hors d'Age (at least 15 years) and XO (at least 15 years). The product range is characterized by a wide variety. There are also lightly distilled distillates (Blanche Armagnac) and liqueurs generated. In the cellars there are numerous vintage Armagnacs that were only produced in the prime of life, the oldest vintage dates from 1893. More are sold under the Château de Maniban brand Armagnac produced.
