Unit of measurement for the intensity or length of the so-called finish or the perceived temporal sustainability of the olfactory and taste impression when enjoying wine (from Latin cauda = tail or tail). One second of sustainability corresponds to one caudal. If it fades quickly, this is called a "short finish" (up to about 5 seconds), if it lasts, it is called a "long finish". From 20 caudalies a wine is considered very good, from 50 and more grandiose or a wine of the century. See regarding a wine tasting under wine speech and wine rating.

In the past, you needed a wealth of encyclopaedias and specialist literature to keep up to date in your vinophile professional life. Today, Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one of my best helpers and can rightly be called the "bible of wine knowledge".
