Cell

Smallest unit of all living organisms that can possess all the characteristics of life. Single-cell organisms with a diameter of only 0.001 to 0.1 millimetres are, for example, bacteria and yeasts. Viruses do not have all the characteristics to be able to reproduce, but require host cells which they modify and destroy. All higher organisms, like the vine, are made up of billions of cells.
