The white grape variety (also Cerreto Bianco) originates from Italy. The parentage is unknown. It is probably named after the municipality of Cerreto Sannita in the province of Benevento in Campania. It is grown there south of Naples and is permitted in the DOC wine Sannio. However, no stock was recorded in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
