Cesanese del Piglio

DOCG area (also Piglio) for red wine in the Italian region Lazio, The classification to this highest level in 2008 was the first in the region. The zone completely includes the two municipalities of Piglio and Serrone, as well as parts of the municipalities of Acuto, Anagni and Paliano in the province of Frosinone. The wine is made Cesanese with the varieties Cesanese di Affile and Cesanese Comune (90%) and other approved varieties (max. 10%). There is also the stronger alcohol Superiore and the longer matured Riserva, Two other Cesanese areas are Cesanese di Affile and Cesanese di Olevano Romano.
