The white grape variety originates from Croatia. Synonyms are Blajka, Blatinka, Blatka, Blatska, Cetinjka, Cetinjka Bijela, Cetinka Bijela, Poseraca, Potomka, Potomkinja, Potomkynya and Tsetynka. The parentage is unknown. Despite seemingly suggestive synonyms or morphological similarities, it should not be confused with the Blatina variety. It is a purely female grape variety. The late-ripening vine is particularly sensitive to botrytis. It produces fresh white wines with a rather low alcohol and acid content. It is mainly cultivated on the two Croatian islands of Hvar and Korčula, as well as Lastovo and Vis and on the Pelješac peninsula. In 2010, 35 hectares of vineyards were reported, but none in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
