IGP area for red, rosé, white and sparkling wines in the French wine region of Languedoc. It is named after the southeasternmost part of the French Massif Central. The former VdP area covers 188 municipalities in the northern part of the Gard department. 42 grape varieties are permitted. The most important red wine varieties for the quantitatively dominant red wines are Syrah, Grenache Noir(Garnacha Tinta), Carignan Noir(Mazuelo), Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, the most important white wine varieties Viognier, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. Well-known producers are Domaine de Gournier and Domaine Lous Grezes.
