Challenge International du Vin

The international competition has been held every two years since the late 1970s VINEXPO carried out in Blaye-Bourg (Bordeaux). Wines, sparkling wines, liqueurs and distillates are assessed. The wine review is carried out by experts in accordance with the "International Code of Oenological Practice in Vines and Wine" according to specific criteria such as clarity, color, harmony, sugar content and growing area. A self-developed point system is used. In 2004, 4,444 products from 40 countries were tasted by 744 tasters and 1,206 medals were awarded, including 171 in gold.
