The estate is located in the municipality of Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes in the area Saint-Emilion
(Bordeaux). It was taken over in 2000 by Sylviane Garcin-Cathiard, whose family also includes the two wineries Château Haut-Bergey (Pessac-Léognan) and Clos L'Eglise (Pomerol). The estate is managed by daughter Hélène Garcin-Lévêque. After the takeover, large investments were made in cellars and vineyards. The company was first classified in 2012 as "Grand Cru Classé". The vineyards cover 17 hectares of vines, which are planted with Merlot (85%) and Cabernet Franc (15%). The BSA is made in 100% new oak barrels, then mature the long-lived red wines for 18 months in 100% new barriques. The second wine is called "Le Vallon de Barde Haut".
